My dear friend Ambie, just put me onto a new designer based in Italy, whose work totally to speaks me. Mariavittori Sargentini’s line Marvie Lab, incorporates simple, effortless cuts. Sargentini designs collections, referred to as “projects,” each with a distinct concept. In one of her projects titled S+M+L, she takes components of the classic suit and manipulates it so that the pieces are interchangeable. This allows the wearer to experiment and also allows for a bit of freedom within the confines of traditional dressing. The garments are unisex, and as you’ve probably guessed, comes in three sizes. I’m going to continue to follow this line. I’m super excited to see how it progresses. I can see any yohji and CDG aficionado getting into Marvie Lab.
